Trash the Dress

“Trashing the dress” is a popular photo shoot where brides literally ruin their dresses. All dangerous and dirty locations are acceptable: forests, fires, oceans, sand, dirt, you name it!

At first, you might be thinking why in the world would a bride destroy a dress that she paid hundreds, if not thousands for, just to have some cool pictures? Don’t fear: the dress does not have to be ruined, it can just get wet or dirty enough to the point that a professional cleaning service can still restore it to its original beauty!

Some brides have their new hubbies wear white or khaki instead of their tux so they can get “trashed” as well. Grooms will love this idea after being put through hours and hours of formal pictures the day before.

Also, many brides wear white swimsuits or shorter, less formal dresses to trash as well. Be casual, relaxed and have fun! The beauty and fun of trash the dress, also called “fearless bridal” or “rock the frock,” is the contrast of elegant clothing with an environment that makes the clothing completely out of place.

What do you think about trash the dress? Would you consider this photo shoot?

  1. Our photographer offers a trash the dress shoot, but idk if i could bring myself to get it that dirty/wet! Which is why she also has a backup dress just in case her brides dont want to ruin theirs!

  2. Ohh, this is my favorite post! I wonder what I will do to trash my dress! :)
