Destination Weddings: The Good, The Bad and the Far Away

Destination weddings may sound like the perfect solution but always make sure to examine the flip side. Getting married on the beach and not having to worry about rushing from the ceremony to the pain is certainly a benefit. Some people go away to get away, after all you did invite Great Aunt Mildred, she can’t get mad that she can’t come!

However, there are some things you must take into consideration. Wherever you are traveling may not have certain everyday things that you will have to ship in. While many companies, Gracious Bridal among them, will ship your favors and other wedding items to the destination, it can be more expensive and much harder to correct mistakes. Another consideration is that while you may be getting away from most of your family, the ones that come with you will probably stay after the wedding and nothing ruins a honeymoon quite like Mom wanting to know what excursion you two can do together.

A destination wedding can be a dream come true or a nightmare, but that depends entirely upon you. Your outlook will make or break the day so make sure to remember that when it rains on the beach or Dad just won’t leave you and your new hubby alone!
