Tipping Your Vendors

Many couples have questions about gratuities for wedding day vendors. This includes the manager of the venue, florist, cake baker, wedding coordinator, limo driver, caterer and bartender. Be sure to look at the contract because gratuity might already be included, especially for the limo service, bartenders and catering company.

Traditionally, 10-15% is normal to give to vendors. Depending on the service, you might decide to tip more or less, so giving the tip after the wedding works best. If you decide to give the standard amount, your wedding coordinator can pass out the tips so that you don’t have to worry about it on your big day.

Thank you cards to vendors are also appreciated. This is a personalized way to show your appreciation for their work on your wedding. Use your Initial Thank You Notes to detail their fabulous work so they can also use the letters to show to potential clients for a reference. That way, if you ever need to use them again (think milestone birthdays, anniversary parties, etc.) they will be more than thrilled to have you back!
