Love in the Great Outdoors!

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of witnessing an outdoor wedding ceremony on one of the most beautiful days of the year. While the couple took precautions in case the day wasn’t quite so perfect weather wise, the heating lamps and tent were not necessary on their big day! Though some couples prefer to have their ceremony in a more religious space, this can be a great alternative if you and your spouse can’t agree on a location!

Unless you and your husband attend the same place of worship, it can be very difficult to agree on which specific church or synagogue will be the site of your ceremony. Since wedding decisions are about compromising, seeking an outdoor wedding, whether locally or at a destination, could be the solution to this disagreement.

Additionally, often the same outdoor locations are also great for hosting the reception, so your guests do not have to transport themselves from the ceremony to the reception. Your guests can also begin to enjoy the reception while the wedding party finishes taking their pictures! Another great feature of these ceremonies are that the chairs used for seating and candles used for d├ęcor can be reused as seating at the reception and centerpieces for the tables!

Many venues are great for these types of ceremonies, but if you are having a smaller ceremony, it is possible to do the wedding on your own at a country home or beachfront property! Depending on the amount of time you have available to dedicate to the planning of your ceremony, the opportunities with outdoor venues are endless! If you planned or attended one of these ceremonies and have any pictures or suggestions to pass on, I’m sure other brides would welcome more insight into an al fresco ceremony!
