Hotel Options

If you have out-of-town guests coming to your wedding, a major thing to consider is hotel accommodations. Although you want the hotel to be close to your chosen venue, you want it to be easily accessible from an airport as well.

You should give your guests options, especially since they might not be familiar with the area. Choose at least two hotels within different price ranges and call them about hotel blocks (also known as group rates). They will hold a certain number of rooms for your guests, and they usually give discounts.

Make sure you let your guests know about these reserved rooms so that they can take advantage of them. You can do this by sending the hotel information with the save the dates and/or use your wedding website to inform the out-of-town guests.

Guests staying at the same hotel can carpool. Some hotels offer a shuttle service, so be sure to ask about that for guests who will not rent a car.

One thing you might want to think about is your “honeymoon suite” for your wedding night. Choose a different hotel than what you picked out for your guests, because even though you are so glad they came to your wedding, you will probably want a little privacy on your wedding night. When you are staying at the same hotel as guests (especially family members you haven’t seen in forever), there is the chance of running into them and getting caught up in conversation.
